You’ve secured your favorite band, booked the best caterer, found the perfect dress, tux, invitations, etc… You can’t wait to share your big day with all of your loved ones, colleagues and friends, so, now what? You’ve probably heard the adage (wo)man plans, God laughs! Weather can be a bride’s/groom’s or party host’s worst nightmare.
Weather shouldn’t be the deciding factor in pulling off successful event or keep you from choosing the location of your dreams. The tents that are available today are built so much better than they use to be and have become the norm when planning outdoor celebrations.
There are many styles of tents to choose from:
Pole tents. Generally, they are the least expensive tent. They may or may not have the pretty high peaks everyone likes, but they all have center poles. They are an economical option, especially in tents wider than 40’. However, they do have their limitations; the poles get in the way of table layout and can limit dance floor size you select. The ropes and stakes are potential tripping hazards.
Frame tents. They are an upgrade from the pole tent and are available in widths of up to 50’ and can be long as you need. There’s no center poles, so you aren’t limited as to how you layout the interior. The walls slide open and can be closed easily. These aren’t the tripping hazard and the legs are further apart as a pole tent, and the structure is stronger. Frame tents can be weighted when staking isn’t feasible. However, unlike Special Events Tent & Party Rentals, most tent companies don’t own large frame tents and only offer pole tents.
Navi-Trac® frame tent system. Great for fast and simple installations. They use a modular construction and are available in 30′, 40′ and 50′ widths, and allow use of kedered sidewalls, which add rigidity to sidewall sections, to assure a smooth, weather-tight fit and maximum stability in wind and rain. They are beautiful as well as versatile.
Clearspan structures. They are constructed of extruded aluminum beams and heavy weight vinyl. Their popularity has grown because of their many advantages. Clearspan is available in widths from 10 feet to over 100 feet with practically unlimited length. No guy lines to trip over or center poles to be in the way. They are able to withstand winds up to 70 mph and offer slide in roof panels and walls to provide the best protection from wind and rain. And in the winter, can be custom built to sustain snow loads of up to 35 lbs per square foot. They are also ideal for long-term installations; can be secured from unwanted entry with the use of “hard” walls and locking doors; great for large events held over days, weeks or months. They can of course be heated or air-conditioned as well.
When shopping around for ask about price, delivery fees, setup/labor and breakdown charges, fire/zoning permits and available accessories.
Event Permits Your location may require an event permit. Special Events Tent & Party Rentals will secure the needed permits on behalf of their clients and help provide the necessary paperwork and ensure code compliance for tent installations for public gathering places.
